Title: SDSC PM Notification – 16 October 2012, 5pm – Windows, Solaris and Linux patching
Description: Overview of Service Outage:
– “cavern” NFS file sharing unavailable during fileserver reboot
– NFS file sharing from luray and all project storage nodes
– SDSC e-mail (UCSD Exchange service will not be affected)
– hosted web servers briefly unavailable
– virtualized hosts pause or reboot (including Solaris login hosts multivac & pauline)
– Windows services including Vault filesystems, Sharepoint, Citrix, may be unavailable
Additional Detail:
– Windows Servers will be patched to protect against recently released vulnerabilities. Services such as file shares, printing, Sharepoint and Citrix will be intermittently unavailable as the machines are rebooted between 5PM and 11PM.
– Solaris patching of the following systems. During the maintenance the systems will be patched and rebooted once. Scheduled outage is 5pm – 9pm PDT:
