[Update: 21:36] All work is complete. The units are synchronized and report healthy. Please contact SDSC Support with any questions or concerns.
[Update: 20:41] Initial failover between firewalls has been completed and services are available again. Engineers are working to complete other required maintenance on the firewall hardware during the outage.
Colleagues:
Between 20:00 and 21:00 tonight, 16 November 2020, SDSC will perform emergency maintenance on the hardware firewalls. This will cause a loss of network routing for approximately 5 minutes while the cluster resets. This is to fix a problem that prevents modifying existing firewall rules.
Systems affected include some SDSC colocated desktops/servers, SDSC-hosted web/database services, primary SDSC DNS servers, Kerberos and Yubikey authentication, and managed Windows servers and desktops in the building.
A post to the SDSC Status Page at http://status.sdsc.edu will occur after the maintenance has been completed.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have and thank you for your patience.
