This message is to alert you that the SDSC Enterprise Network Services team has scheduled network maintenance. The network maintenance will affect a variety of SDSC-hosted services and colocated systems.
Start: 19:00 PST, Tuesday 3/7/2023
End: 06:00 PST, Wednesday 3/8/2023
We have scheduled a maintenance window to perform hardware upgrades to our core infrastructure and code upgrades to our Top-of-Rack infrastructure. During this window, where available, we will be making every effort to minimize impact to users by manipulating traffic through backup devices and redundant paths, but please be prepared for intermittent loss of connectivity during the window.
We will be keeping our status page up to date during the window, so please refer to this page for any updates/changes.
1900 – Maintenance has started on SDSC’s core networking infrastructure.
2030 – Prepare for loss of connectivity to SDSC networked services including Universal Scale Storage (Qumulo).
0000 – Engineers are performing code upgrades on Top-of-Rack switches.
0300 – Maintenance extended while engineers work to resolve intermittent connectivity loss.
0500 – Towards the end of our maintenance window, we discovered a stability issue affecting a subset of traffic to SDSC networked services. We spent hours engaging with our network vendor and they have advised us to roll back while they continue to research the stability issue.
0530 – Issue Resolved. If experiencing any further issues, please contact colosupport@sdsc.edu.
